We escaped nuclear fall out with 1 minute and 40 seconds to spare. We had one hour to figure out the puzzle. The kids had another sleepover at our house. We woke them at 8:45 for a quick breakfast so we could get to church by 9:30. One gold star was awarded by Jeff for getting 8 kids to church. It may have been two if we weren't two minutes late!

A day catching up and relaxing with friends

Such a relaxing day. Thanks Laura and Kirsten for lunch, drinks and great conversation. And a few flowers from my yard. Love lilacs.

More fishing on Monday

Charlie is  finally more interested in fishing....he caught a big bass this morning.
Stories from the bridge this morning...
Brendan says..."Grandma, can you massage my shoulder, it's soar from reeling in that carp for 15 minutes." And then the carp fell off after 15 minutes, just as Charlie caught his big bass. They were having a blast.
As the morning went on, many, many bass were caught. Chuck also caught a northern. And because Chuck was fishing, the DNR stopped to check our fishing license. We were all legal. The kids fished for at least 3 1/2 hours.
And then another game of The Game of Life. As Charlie says....lets go fishing instead. 😃

Annual trip to A&W

Root beer floats, fries, onion rings and cheese curds. We ate well! The kids are always shocked by the size of the floats they get all to themself. 

And then a trip to Leo's.  And Karen and Bruce's.  The kids played with Gracyn

Tubing again....

Brendan says....I didn't not want to tube Saturday....funny....on Saturday the Nelson kids tubed and he didn't go, so he got his chance Sunday.....as he was leaving he says....we're all gonna die. Marci fell in, it was a shock from the cold water....and then they all ended up on one tube.
Then the rain storm came, we made it back just in time. But didn't make it back to the camper...we were soaked.

Lots of eating...

Rog, Karen and Bruce came for the fish fry.
And then hot dogs and brats for supper.

Bridge fishing and bird catching

Charles was sure he had to help this baby bird. Another pet for the weekend. We convinced him to return the bird to the swamp.
